Volcom announces its recipients for 1% for the Planet donation.

Volcom are now giving back to the planet with their new V.Co-logical series of clothing, which combines Volcom's signature styling with sustainable materials and less harmful production processes.

What's more, as members of the 1% for the Planet organisation, for every item you buy Volcom will donate money to a list of environmental protection groups that help you to keep doing the sports you love.

These handpicked groups include the likes of POW (Protect Our Winters), the Alaska Wilderness League, and Save the Waves Coalition, so check them out to find out what else you can do to help.

Furthermore, since you are online anyway, why not keep up to date with the Volcom Giving Back Blog, which will keep you up to date with Volcom's environmental progress.

  • I think it's good that brands do this kind of thing, but if they are still making lots of clothes the way they used to is it not just lip service?...

After all, isn't the first rule in saving the planet to 'reduce'? Surely if brands are producing eco-lines on top of their normal manufacturing process they are still contributing to the problem?

I feel that what actually needs to happen is that brands need to be making eco-lines instead of their normal lines, not as well as...

I know this can't happen over night, but gradually reducing excess seems like a step in the right direction to me that's all.
