Wakestock lords it up at Blenheim Palace
Festivals are all about location, location, location these days. The line-up is important of course, but the calendar is so packed in summer that if you miss your artist in one place you’ll find them at another a couple of months down the line.
Blenheim Palace is a beautiful spot and the proximity of the water gives the riders some proper hollywood opportunities. Into its 9th year and now offering its own version of surf-and-turf with the original Abersoch and new palatial venues, Wakestock looks like a hot ticket.
There’s some solid headliners in the shape of Groove Armada, Supergrass and Norman Jay; and The Hoosiers, Young Knives and Audio Bullys ensure there’s something for everyone whether you choose beach or country tent action.
Water is the common geographic denominator though. The Big Air Classic is the main draw for the wakeboarders on the Friday, and the new rail-style concept introduced last year is now part of a national tour.
And if music, wakeboarding or Relentless aren’t your thing, then checking out where the legend that is Sir Winston Churchill was born is surely worth the trip.
Blenheim Palace 27th-29th June
Abersoch 4th-6th July
