Cold Water Classic Canada 2010: Day three
Rugged surf contest continues in Vancouver Island.
O’Neill Cold Water Classic Canada entered its third day of competition with surging tides and torrential rain hitting Vancouver Island.
Irish surfer Glenn Hall was the standout of the day as the mobile competition returned once again to North Chesterman beach in Tofino.
Glenn posted the highest score of the competition so far with an 8.83 for some solid surfing in the clean 4ft waves.
“Getting ready was pretty wild in this weather,” said Hall. “I was in an extra large raincoat that our accommodation provided us while I was waiting for my heat. I could hardly move under it, but it was all good.”
Local heroes Noah Cohen narrowly missed out on advancing to the next round despite some impressive surfing.
However, Stuart Kennedy and Dion Atkinson qualified for the next round along with Shaun Cansdell who is looking to get in the water tomorrow to take the series lead from Royden Bryson who failed to turn up for his heat.
