Waveriders hits UK cinemas
At last, the long-awaited Irish surf film Waveriders is screening this weekend around the UK.
Directed by Joel Conroy and starring Kelly Slater, Gabe Davies and Richie Fitzgerald, Waveriders delves into the story of surfing pioneer George Freeth, a half-Irishman born on Hawaiian shores.
Featuring epic big-wave scenes and an insightful narrative, the film picked up the title of Best Picture at the Irish Film Festival this year and, according to Little White Lies, it "may help convince people that surf culture isn't all 'brah' and bullshit." Set to appeal to both surfers and regular folk alike, this is one film not to be missed.
