Welcome to the World Oceans Day takeover
We devote the HUCK website to the deep, blue sea.
To mark the second annual UN World Oceans Day, we’ve got a whole load of exclusive sea-themed content on huckmagazine.com!
World Oceans Day was first declared on June 8 2009 as "an opportunity to raise global awareness of the current challenges faced by the international community in connection with the oceans."
As part of this, we talk to pro surfer and campaigner Dave Rastovich, Greenpeace and Sea Shepherd Conservation Society founder Captain Paul Watson and Sven Huseby, star of environmental documentary, A Sea Change.
HUCK also recommends some great films about the ocean you should check out and and takes a look the emerging, and potentially devastating, industry of ocean mining.
And the HUCK columns didn't escape this either. Ruth Carruthers suggests that the Deepwater Horizon may just offer a glimmer of eco hope and Tim Conibear gives a personal insight into his own deep love affair with the big blue.
