Rip Curl Wetsuit Amnesty
Surfers across UK invited to bring back their old wetsuits.
The UK's first ever Wetsuit Amnesty is taking place this weekend at Rip Curl Europe's flagship store in Newquay.
It's easy; just bring yourself and your old wetsuit along to the store on Saturday May 2nd from 6pm to be a part of Rip Curl's initiatives to protect the environment.
Wetsuits are built to last, but this is a problem for the environment when it comes to getting rid of old ones. But, Rip Curl's Project Resurrection finds a new lease of life for old suits by turning them into a pair of comfy flip-flops.
"It's great to have a worthwhile use for these old suits, generally if my old suits are still usable I pass them onto other surfers, but these have definitely had it so they'll make some great slaps! " says Pro Surfer Jayce Robinson.
There will be live music in-store from local band Albenaza, and the free pair of Project Resurrection Flip Flops in return for each wetsuit brought in. This is also your chance to meet Rip Curl's pro team and eco-ambassadors, and discover more about Rip Curl's environmental initiatives.
So dig out your old fluorescent wetsuits, have some fun, and put that old rubber to good use.
