The world is our rubbish dump
The Guardian newspaper shows us the reality on World Environment Day.
I don't need to say very much in this blog...these pictures say it all really.
I've been writing about beach litter and other such problems with our waste disposal for quite some time now, but I have never seen images as shocking as the ones posted on the Guardian environment website last Friday.
If you think we have a problem with litter here in the UK spare a thought for the people in developing nations, these pictures will really make you think twice. Worst of all, a lot of this junk has come from us, and will litter the streets and rivers of people we've never met for hundreds of years to come as it resists degradation.
Friday June 5 was World Environment Day, and although the world is very slowly becoming more aware of the impact we are having on the environment, these pictures show we still have a bloody long way to go.
