I first saw Laura Marling live by accident when she turned up in London’s Chinatown after having been kicked out of the launch party for her single for being underage. She played a short unplugged set (without even a microphone) while the whole bar watched in raptured silence, the kind of silence that happens when people realise they’re witnessing something pretty special.
