Everyone has their own favourite things. And so in this spirit, we ask the great, the good and the downright talented about the things that mean the most to them.

HUCK caught up with legendary snowboarder Devun Walsh at the DC snow team's recent trip to Area 43 snow park in Les Houches, France to find what he's in to.

What?
My golf clubs but they all got stolen by some crackhead. They were my favourite things. Do you know what it was? It was actually my putter. That was my favourite thing 'cos it worked really, really good and it won me a lot of money. I gamble with golf: hitting a long drive, sinking a long drive, making a short putt, that kind of thing. I’m a member of a club in Vancouver.

Where?
I really like my house in North Vancouver. It’s comfortable. I have a dog and a child and a wife. It’s just a nice, calm place. I spend quite a bit of time away but I try to compound my trips into a certain time of the year. I’m at home a lot in the summer. In the winter, I’m home quite a bit too because we are always filming in Whistler which is only an hour and a half drive. I usually stay there on a bit of a film binge as we have early call times and it’s a bit too long to drive back.

When?
I kind of have two favourites. I really like late spring just before it’s summer and it’s nice out. I also really like January because there’s so much pow, it’s snowing every day and there’s just amazing riding. I love snowboarding, but I love golfing too – it’s so relaxing. You know only one person ever has been killed by a golf ball. One person ever. It was in Surrey, British Columbia!

Who?
My wife, she’s my best friend, you know? She’s great.

Why?
The people who inspire my snowboarding are some of the great skateboarders like Jeremy Wray and Matt Hensley. Especially Jeremy Wray, he does these big front 360s on a skateboard – so sick. I really like that: just floating it. I wanted to be a pro skateboarder more than anything but I just wasn’t good enough. I’d go skateboarding with Rick McCrank and he moved to Whistler to be a pro snowboarder. Go figure, right?! And he just ended up fucking ruling at skateboarding. And you go snowboarding with him and it’s like ‘good thing he chose skateboarding’.
