Everyone has their own favourite things. And so in this spirit, we ask the great, the good and the downright talented about the things that mean the most to them.

We caught up with Cliché Skateboards pro Javier Mendizabal hot off the back of his new video by French Fred to find what floats his boat.

What?
Probably my Nikon FM2. It's my first camera and my only one for a long time. My friend Fernando gave it to me when I was 20 years old and it's been with me all around the world since then. It's the camera I learned to shoot photos with and even though I don't use it all the time now, it's still coming with me everywhere.

Where?
I just came back from New Zealand. It's my favourite country in the world but home is home so I will say Barcelona. That's where I have been living for the last 12 years and where I like to go back after long trips; good friends, good weather, good food.  I don't need a car, I can go skating everywhere and it's big city but still has a small town feeling. And then, I have the Basque country too where I am originally from. There is this little church up in the mountains near my parents house where I like to ride my mountain bike and be in silence. It's my little secret spot to breathe!

When?
My first time in Hawaii was definitely one of the most beautiful, intense and important times of my life. I went there when I was 21 and stayed there for almost three months. I didn't speak much English, had no money and was homeless and alone, taking a break from everything.  It really helped me to find out what is important in life for me. But I really think that the moment right now is more important than any past or any future...and today, things are looking pretty good for me!

Who?
No heroes!! I look up to the people who are around me. I love my family and I admire my friends.

Why?
Fun! It's the only reason why I still wanna go out and skate, go faster, take slams and learn new tricks! It makes me feel good – alive!
