Must see snow flicks
It's World Snowboard Day on December 20 and to mark this event, we've put together a selection of snowboard films that caught our attention this season.
Absinthe Films Neverland
Always setting standards high, this season's benchmark from Absinthe Films was Neverland. The film follows some of the sport's most progressive riders on backcountry booters, urban rails and more with outstanding performances from Gigi Rüf, JP Solberg and Eero Ettala. It's also all filmed in 16mm HD so you know it looks amazing!

Isenseven Let’s Go Get Lost
This crew from Munich, Germany have been knocking out quality shred-flicks over the past couple of seasons using crisp cinematography, post-production special effects and soundtrack of indie bleepy goodness to accompany everything from big powder kickers to throwaway DIY jibs. The latest film from Isenseven almost never happened after injuries and some seriously bad luck jeopardised the filming process. However, they overcame these obstacles to create what they have call "the most versatile, personal and visually stunning Isenseven video ever."

Pirate Movie Production Jolly Roger
The latest Pirate film features over 25 riders from 12 different countries so you are guaranteed some diverse riding from a broad spectrum of personalities. There's also the breathtaking scenery from Kitzbühel's alpine snowfields to the volcanoes of Kamchatka, all shot with Pirates' old school analog style. Not convinced yet? There is also a stellar line up that includes Tyler Chorlton, Gigi Rüf (again!) and current Swatch TTR World Tour leader, Marko Grilc.

Flatlight Films 9 Months of Snow
This Finnish snow movie by Flatlight Films explores the resorts of Ruka and Pyhä in Lapland that boast a season stretching from October all the way through to June (hence the name, duh!). It features the likes of Antti Autti, Peetu Piiroinen and Miikka Hast exploring the jibbing, park and freeride potential of these areas. And luckily the directors haven't forgot to put in the obligatory slo-mo and scenic weather shots either, capturing some strange other world that’s dying to be explored – and perhaps that's why the tourist board have put their weight behind it.

Factor Films They Came From
Norway’s Factor Films took the bull by the horns and filmed a section of They Came From in 3D (yeah, you will need some anaglyph specs and everything!) With lots of 'deep' shots involving everything from powder slashes, kickers and yo-yos, they’ve attempted to make you pathetically wave your hand at your screen in disbelief. Does it work? Judge for yourself below. But regardless of gimmicks, it still is beautifully shot.
